The Printing Revolution
Past Scenario Present Scenario Scenario Today The introduction of Imagesetter in association to DTP relieved all the conventional problems. Pictures now are converted to digital format by scanning the picture on a desktop scanner or by using a digital camera, which is transported into the Computer. By using the appropriate software, the pictures are then manipulated. The background images, logos, other images like graphs, flowcharts, engineering drawings, and text are incorporated in the same page, thus finishing the full page on the computer. Before the introduction of the Imagesetter converting this page to a positive or negative was a complex work. Presently the Imagesetter has made this work simpler. Similar to a Laser Printer, Ink Jet or Dot Matrix, Imagesetter is also a digital printing device, which prints on film with very high quality. With an Imagesetter color separated positive or negative films are obtained which are directly used for plate making. Today, in DTP, Graphic Designing on Computers give us total solutions with regard to photo manipulation, image/logo creation, text and page formatting. This is uncomplicated by using a host of softwares i.e., PageMaker, Photoshop, CorelDraw. |
